Joe4d
didnt watch video, but for me,, humm hard to say.. For me In accuracy games,, dots are worse. in speed ? dots are better. In ICORE and Bowling pins, even after shooting the dot gun exclusively for a year plus, I could pick up an unfired iron gun and do better in the overalls.. Never shot USPSA with one though. Kal092
I have used a red dot since they came out on a Ruger Mini 14 and was very pleased.
dannyd
I would definitely put the red dot up there with Smokeless Powder, has one of greatest inventions for guns.
Twilk73
Red dots aren’t better in every way but they have a speed advantage for sure.
Cuz
As an aid for those with failing eyes they are great. As I get older, iron sights were getting harder to see and compete with. Recreational shooting went from fun to frustrating. Putting a red dot on my pistol made shooting fun again. And for me, that makes them better. Back when I had young eyes, they may have been better, but I never used them because I preferred shooting iron sights, and considered that to be more fun. MikeyScuba
It’s more fun, less challenging with a dot. I shoot ISR and OR during local ICORE matches on the same squad. steel is so much better with a dot and as I treat the front fiber like a dot in really dark conditions irons are a nightmare. up close irons are better but at distance it’s the dot. SHO and WHO need a lot of dryfire practice with a dot.
dannyd
I started in the 1960's with a Winchester Model 52 target rifle and Lyman peep sights. (You had to be target focused with those sights) After all these years the dot is amazing 2 to 3 Mil for 50 to 100 yard work, 6 to 8 for speed. I still use open sights, but need special glasses, not so with the dot.
