New Romeo 3 Max Pro

Highlights -- DP Pro footprint, 4 or 8 moa, slightly bigger display than Romeo 3 Max, 2 night vision and 13 daylight intensity adjustments, slightly shorter overall length, same price as R3 Max. Will simplify mounting this optic on slides.

Anyone seen these for sale anywhere besides on SIGs web site?

I’d guess that sig is going to exclusively sell it for a few weeks to squeeze early adopters for full retail price..

my distributor told me he can’t even order it yet.

The pics suggest the window is similar in size to the XL.   Is that your impression as well when looking at them both in person?

The max pro is slightly taller and wider with a different shape.

I’ll measure exactly later today.

Thanks.     Now the waiting to not have to spend MSRP...  😬

In the era of $3-400 optics, 699 is a bit ridiculous. Street price will probably be 550-600, which is still high comparatively.

Max pro window. 0.970” H x 1.26” W

R3 XL. 0.935 H x 1.26” W

Thanks!  Great info.  I do hope the street price settles in to something less crazy.

So a couple things I’d mention.

1. The optic does not correctly fit a dpp footprint. The size and mounting holes line up. But the holes for the mounting lugs aren’t right. I had to do a significant amount of modification to a dpp plate to get it to fit. The holes in the optic are slightly too small and slightly too far apart. I’m not sure if this is a f*#k up, or on purpose. Most sig guns have no mounting lugs, so I’d lean towards f*#k up.  My other dpp footprint optics fit the plate I used with no issues.

2. The optic itself is great. There is more brightness adjustability. The window is pretty much xl size, even in width.

3. I got the 3MOA version and the dot is noticeably bigger than a 3MOA in an xl. I’d say it’s closer to 5-6.

i went out and shot around 500 rounds yesterday and everything seemed fine.

Wow that sucks.    Did you contact Sig about it?     What plate system are you using?

Since I was able to use it. I haven’t contacted sig yet.

i’m using an atlas plate. I have an actual DPP and a vortex defender xl. They both fit the plate perfectly.

Yeah, that makes no sense as I seem to remember that one of the bullet points mentioned was it fit the DPP foot print.   Another classic failure by Sig Optics.  It will fit "OUR" DPP footprint but not anyone else's.  Lmao.

Just wondering if @Rich406 got an early production piece without the kinks worked out.   If it isn't a drop-in onto any DPP mount, it will be a disaster for SIG.
