usmc1974
I have a JPGMR15 9 mm carbine. I was wondering if I could change out the barrel so I could run a suppressor on it. Link to comment
philmadxx
Yes. Pretty much like any other AR type barrel. Link to comment
Boomstick303
Understand that the JP barrels is a Thermo-fit barrel. Meaning that heat is used to remove and install barrels into the upper receiver. You will need to heat the upper receiver to remove the old barrel and install the new barrel. Link to comment

mandiesel
Any risk to damaging the finish with the direct flame? Link to comment
Boomstick303
I would not think so in that there is no discoloration when the whole gun is purchased new. They install the barrels the same way before they are sold to the public. Link to comment
Bw3375
I'm not the smartest when it comes to suppressors on a PCC, so this suggestion might not make sense. Why not just change out the flash hider to accept a suppressor vs. Changing the entire barrel? Link to comment
Boomstick303
His specific PCC most likely has a pin and welded comp or a shrouded shorter barrel which would not accept any sort of flash hider being a GMR15. A barrel change is most likely required to fit any sort of suppressor to a GMR15. Link to comment

I didn’t have to heat my barrel to remove it though. Link to comment
CarRacer
GMRs are not thermal fit from JP, they're different than the gas guns. Link to comment
Tampa-XD45
I had to get the MK III Hand Guard Tool from JP for my GMR15. IIRC they sent it at no charge. Link to comment
