beechnutbob
I wet tumbled some 9mm and thought I had thrown out the steel cases. They all looked like brass to me. After laying them out in the sun to dry an hour later I saw some rusting cases. Ran a magnet over the drying cases and found about 60 that were rusting, head stamp Sig. They must use a copper/brass wash or something, if they were plated don’t think tumbling would remove plating.
shred
There are brass-plated steel cases out there too. Always have a magnet somewhere in the system; even just one taped to the casefeed tube.
Farmer
Are they boxer or Berdan primed? The Wolf brand 45’s are boxer and I’ve reloaded those for throw-always while hunting. Just have to use a good lube like imperial for sizing. I once picked up a bunch of 303 British brass that I was just going to throw in the brass bucket and it was all copper washed steel too.
