Dawson but he's no longer doing them.

MecGar is good except in an STI, i know, I found out and then saw it on MecGars web site.

I had issues with the Gen 1 Wilsons.

My Venom 9mm 1911 came with a Tripp mag with the basepad to fit the Dawson magwell.  They work perfectly, I bought 5 more from Dawson...

Agree with the Dawsons, as I have many of them. But I heard they were basically Tripp magazines. So if Dawson are no longer available, go with Tripps.

Yes, I agree.  I haven't looked in exhausting, complete detail, but I have both Dawson and Tripp magazines and can't tell the difference in them.

Metalform mags are the best.  Their bodies are in Brownell's and Dawson mags.  Only the base pads are different.  The only ones of the six brands I tried that worked 100%.  The new MecGar did not function at all in my gun.

The Dawson mags have the “feed ramp” built in and it helps with nose diving first rounds.  It makes unloading difficult but is well worth it.

I run the mecgars in my 9mm and 45. No issues ever and they are cheap. Come with good basepads too

My favorites are the extinct McCormick XP with front spacer.  No longer made after Wilson takeover.  Current CMC with 1950 rear spacer seems OK, as does the similar Wilson.

My MecGars are good.

 

Ten round Metalforms were a hassle but the 9 shot front ramp MFs are good.

Jeff I have several Dawson and Several cheap Zenith ones. both have ran good but the dawson work with the ice magwell much better.

The 10 round Metalform / Zenith have worked in all my 9mm 1911s with out issues.

Metal Form mags run great for me. Tripp mags run great, but for me, if you eject a mag with ammo in it the round will sometimes get caught.

Right, they are very low cut in front and ejecting a partial magazine will sometimes snag a round out.  Worse, a snug Kydex magazine carrier can strip out the top round.  Which is why I use mine at the Make Ready and reload with XP or other brand.

I had that issue with the Kydex holder during the Falling Steel World Series. Nothing like running limited 10 and seeing rounds get stuck and fling from your mag when you need them.

Wilson work great, also the 2 from Sig are fine, although I'm not sure who made them.

I like the Metalform model # 9.743 BN (black nitrate) or 9.743 (stainless steel). They have worked in every 9mm 1911 I've owned.

Mine are Gen 1 ETM's, yours' must be Gen II's.

All of the WIlson Combat 10 round 9mm mags have been flawless for me.  ETM, Elite Tactical, ETM Vickers Duty.
