JM_
I'm looking for a simple and easy to use soft case for Steel Challenge rifles. I've currently got the Tandemkross cases, but they are bulky. Pretty much looking for that same thing but slimmed down a bit. What's everyone using?

Tampa-XD45
Been using one of these for years. Less than $30 and I've been very happy with it. https://www.amazon.com/Savior-Equipment-Patriot-Single-Tactical/dp/B07FY3C45S/ref=sr_1_13?crid=26G27HM759Z0U&keywords=rifle%2Bcase&qid=1674498545&sprefix=rifle%2Bcas%2Caps%2C114&sr=8-13&th=1&psc=

cferree
I fellow competitor at an SCSA match had one of the these: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/939293374?pid=754325 I picked up two. The 36" works great for a 10/22 with a 16" barrel, and my JP with 16" pin and welded barrel. The insert comes out. and the padding is pretty thick. rooster mcbee
I use an M-1 carbine case made by Liberty in St. Louis for my Steel Challenge rifle cases. I usually buy them at a gun show.

It's relatively cheap, it has enough of a pointed shape so you always know what direction the muzzle is pointed and you can just half way unzip the case and get the rifle in and out with never sweeping the hand holding the case. The last reason is why I don't like to see scabbard cases because too many people will sweep the hand holding the scabbard while bagging and un-bagging. Just a few things to think about when selecting a case.
