8stack1
After a 10 year hiatus due to starting a remodeling business I'm finally getting the time and interest back to shoot. I'm 42 and have been shooting since I was probably 6 years old and started shooting club events at 12. Generally I shoot single stack as 1911 pistols are what I have gravitated towards since I was a child. I reside in the Cherokee county area of Texas and looking to find events to shoot and fellow shooters to practice with.
RangerTrace
East Texas Rifle and Pistol in Longview used to be a great club. Good Times Shooters in Tyler is where I started in 2008.

8stack1
I do not mind the drive. I have thought about shooting more than single stack, maybe this p80 clone of a G17 I built. When I stopped shooting single stack 10 years ago there was only 2 of us at the places I shot

All the heat is in Carry Optics, so either get that P80 milled for a dot or get an already milled slide from Brownells. A Trijicon SRO is what you want. 8stack1
That sounds good,I was looking at the Aim Surplus milled slides since I have heard good things about them. I probably would use the trijicon as I really like thier products.

Scotty_JR
Depending on if you shoot IDPA or not, there are 3 club match matches a month in the area, and 1 USPSA match that has already been mentioned. 1st Sat-Longview IDPA 2nd Sat-Angelina Rifle and Pistol in Lufkin (my home club) 3rd Sat-5H Shooting Range in Frankston 4th Sat-Longview USPSA
