New FTR .308 Custom / Semi-custom Rifle wanted

I like long range shooting and FTR is a great option for what I want to do with calibers I know without going into the open category.  I want to shoot heavier bullets and have done some research on twist rates for .308.  I am looking for a semi-custom platform where barrel changes are something I can confidently take are of when barrels need to be changed.  

 

Can anyone suggest companies or people that can provide a whole platform for starters.  I live in Minnesota and I know there are several barrel companies in the Midwest that I can get barrels when needed.

FTR means 308 or 223, but 223s get beat up pretty bad at 1,000.

 

308 barrel life shooting 185s or 200s is 4,000-5,000 rounds.

 

Finding an off the shelf manufacturer of a single shot 308 is going to be a tall order.

 

Just get a custom action and stock and have your gunsmith take all the measurements he needs for additional barrels.  That way when you need a new barrel, he wont need the gun.  All you need is a barrel vice and action wrench.
