What is the frame made of? Trying to find out if I will need to refinish it if I mill serrations into the side of it like I had done on my A01LD. Picture of the A01 for reference.

Chrome plated stainless???

Some, that I remember according to Tanfoglio  old models. Material is a hardened casting of 4140 or something similar in its properties. Much better quality metal than any CZ pistols

its not stainless so you will want to refinish any cuts to avoid rust

Just curious, is that for thumb indexing? Have not seen someone do that before.

Yes it is. Being left handed I dont get to enjoy all the "not a thumb rest" thumb rests the right handed shooters do. So I do this. Honestly it works great for me anyways. All I need it a reference point for my weak hand thumb.

Thanks. I figured as much. I really like the way hard chrome looks but it makes refinishing a gun way more expensive then it should be. So this one won't get the serrations.
