Cowboy_Ninja
Me being lazy here, I can be persuaded tho. How much performance does an open gun loose if you don’t ever clean the comp? I figure at some point sure it’s not doing it’s job. How often is it really necessary to clean the comp?
Maximis228
It all depends on your projectile IMO. Ive used many powders over the years, and projectiles are the only variable that makes a difference for cleanliness of the comp. Coated - Often, and even more so if you have a heavy crimp. Light Plated - You will get leading, but not as fast as coated. Heavy Plated / Jacketed - Not very often at all. I rarely clean my comps and I shoot on average 25k-35K/year of 9major. Dental pick is more then enough to take off slight carbon buildup once a year.
