Tragedy involving a firearm

I strongly feel the need to share this with everyone. Here is a link in English to one of the Philippines largest news networks:

At first I wasn't sure what gun this was however on another news site in the local language, it identifies the firearm as a Taurus 9mm.

Is this pistol really a Taurus?

According to the report the gun fell, discharged and hit the cop's 1 -year old son.

Granting we do not know the true circumstances of the incident, this is a reminder to be careful with firearms, get a good holster, don't ever try to catch a falling gun, and its a good idea to have a gun with a drop safety.

Also if your gun is the subject of a recall, please go ahead and heed the manufacturers warning.

And for us who modify our guns for competition use, it is a wise idea to leave a margin for safety.
