bigdawgbeav
Took the class and passed the RO and Steel Challenge tests today. Not that they were that difficult, but it's nice to get it done and passing on the first try.

carolina_boy1990
As a new shooter, should I just focus on shooting for now or would becoming an RO be a big benefit starting out?

A good number of the folks in my class had only been shooting for a couple of years. They were taking the class mostly to get a better understanding of the rules. X5SigChris
I have a local I shoot that has small squads. Normally 8 people, 10 if it’s full. If you can find one like that, it may help. I learned a lot shooting there. With limited people being there I got to run the tablet and found myself instantly looking for safety violations, foot faults, finger placement on reloads, etc. that’s what made me want to go to a RO course and helped me. May help you too

Joe4d
yeh, I agree, you learn alot going to the class. Also alot of "What ifs" that get talked about. If a steel challenge RO class and cert is offered I will join and sign up
terrydoc
A good idea to do the RO course to get more familiar with the rules, wether you then choose to work matches is then at your descretion.
