I am new to revolver shooting as I always had a mental block to shooting one.  Recently, I shot a friends 929 and fell in love with it.  So, I did what anyone would do and bought one.  Now I am looking for a holster/rig and not having any luck.  Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

There are a few options out there depending on if you want a closed design which Safariland has a good Option.  For an open style holster there are a few choices.  I use a Guga Ribus as I like the muzzle retainer option.

You will  be happy & safe with the DAA set up. You could sky dive and not loose the revolver. A plus, many different gun inserts are available, so it can be used for other guns. Buy the TK moon clips ... NOT some cheepo's and be done with it... You can make a moon clip demooner from a old $3 golf club. A pair of inexpensive HF pliers can be a moon clip loader OR you can spend $$$ on the fancy stuff. Plenty of video's on trigger improvement you will want to do.... Have fun!!!

Welcome to the Bright Side!  You can also try DAA https://www.doublealpha.biz/us/racer-x-holster  I recommend getting the extension muzzle support https://www.doublealpha.biz/us/combo-race-master-racer-muzzle-support-revolver-adaptor may need the extension (I don't for a 6" M28 but a 929?) https://www.doublealpha.biz/us/race-master-muzzle-support-externsion-rod and I also like the thigh pad https://www.doublealpha.biz/us/thigh-pad-for-alpha-x-holster.  And of course the DAA Belts are some of the best!

I started with a Safariland 002 and didn't like it for lack of security, then modified a Blade Tech which are no longer made, I still use it and it's a good unit once I cut the front of the holster down to about midway on the cylinder for clearance.  Never tried the Speed Beez but I see quite a few.

I settled on the DAA Racer X as it's adjustable, fast and with the muzzle support as secure as any.

Enjoy.

The next issue will be Moon Clip Carriers, most seem to go to the magnetic individual posts (Mark Mandrell makes a good one https://www.midwestcompetitionworks.com/shop/p/revolution-2) or the Kydex with posts.  North Mountan seems to not be selling anymore Revolver Supply makes the one I'm using now https://www.revolversupply.com/short/, then there is the Server http://www.moonclipserver.com/ and those who use it swear by it.

Enjoy.

The tighter the fit for the moonclip to the brass makes doing it by hand a pain.  I recommend something with more leverage.  I use a BMT and it works well for 38SC.  Haven't tried the plier types with 38's, used them for the 45 and was never impressed.

I make a holster mod for the Hogue Power Speed holster. It's adjustable in seconds to fit any revolver from 4" to 8-3/8". You can use it with anything from production to full Open race gun. One holster for all the revos. No extra parts to change out or keep track of. Total secure retention, instant draw. Look for it and other products on www.protocalldesign.com.

I also make a hammer for the newer S&W K,L,& N frame revos with the firing pin in the frame. This is a semi drop in action kit that makes the trigger pull get lighter as you pull it back. It starts out at normal weight, then smoothly goes down to around single action pull weight by the end. This give you the best of both single and double action. You get the speed of double action with the shot placement control of single action. You can see this at www.revupaction.com.

Agree the racemaster is great. For sure the way to go

I do have a speedsbees in my box of spare holsters. Pm if interested

The Racer X is cheaper but is a one gun type (1911, Glock or N Frame) holster.  Mine works with any N Frame barrel length, as long as the optional muzzle support is set to the longest barrel.  Of course you can run it without the support just fine.

I run a full DAA setup. The N-Frame insert for the Alpha-X is the best fit I've encountered of the 4-5 inserts I've tried. I run the muzzle support on my Open setup but with the 929 there is no wobble and the release is still very smooth so the muzzle support is unnecessary. The combo of TK stainless moons + DAA posts holds very firm but releases nicely. Blued moons + DAA posts are VERY stiff. Setting up the DAA posts the first time is a pain in the ass but it is nice to be able to fine-tune spacing.
