Captain Chuck
Hello Everyone, I bought a TSO about a year ago and I have found it to be the best handgun that I have ever owned. I shoot it better than any of my previously purchased handguns however I don't feel that I am shooting it to my full potential becase I cannot get a perfect grip. I have very large hands and because of that I cannot get my support hand onto the grip without pushing my stronghand fingers out of the way. No matter how I grip it I cannot get a full grip on it. I purchased Armanov Spidergo palm swell grips which helped but did not eliminate the problem. I have looked at LOK grips and have consulted with Reese over there only to learn that the thickness of the palm swell grips plus there oversied thickness option of .080 (on each side) will still not be as wide as my Armanov Grips. I have studied this forum and a few others and have not found any solutions for my problem. I am sure there are others with a TSO who have had this smae problem. Have any of you found a solution? if so I would be glad to hear from you. I am an avid shooter but I do not compete so there are no special restriction that I will have. I just want grips that fit. BRuss
Patriot Defense has CZ palm swells that look pretty thick, but they taper pretty narrow at the top. Might want to email them for specs.
obsessiveshooter
you eont find bigger grips than the armanov. If I were you, I'd layer up something temporary to about 1/4" thick over the front strap. See how that feels. If that works, then you'll need to ugly-ify your pistol to make it work better as a tool. I'd use JB steel-stik at that point, over top a thin layer of tape over your front strap. Once it's cured, I'd pull it off, remove the tape, and then glue the cured steel-stik piece on with spots of glue.
sandflea316
Here's what you do to add girth. Get some epoxy resin (I like bsi 15 minute quick cure) and carbide silicone (60/90 if you want grippy aggressive texture). Evenly apply the resin and than the silicon carbide to those Armanov grips. Once resin cures try grips on gun. If not thick enough, add another layer of resin and silicone carbide. Keep doing it until you reach the thickness you like. Now you'll have to accept it'll be black in color. Edited June 14, 2022 by sandflea316 More info
Captain Chuck
Thanks for everyones suggestions. You all came back with viable options that I had not thought of.
Stevetford
Another suggestion, and you'd be surprised how much girth it can actually add is to try a bicycle tire tube. Cut a small chunk out and stretch it over the entire grip. Sounds silly but it works, even just temporary till you find a more permanent solution. Nice thing is you don't have to make any permanent modifications.
