Oil or grease?

Grease does a great job of retaining debris ( spent powder, brass particles, dust, etc) and turning into a lapping compound…. Also,  if you shoot in a cold weather environment you have to be meticulous about cleaning it all out…

That's true.  First thing I did when I got mine was to take it apart and remove all the grease.  And I asked them not to do that the next time.

Because you know more than the company that built your pistol....and everybody else, apparently.....

Never said that.  So, please don't put words in my mouth.  This subject has been debated ad nauseam on this site and others.  Hence, my first post above.  But, you chose to go there again.  I never criticized anyone or told anyone what to do.  I simply stated what I chose to do with my own gun.  I have no idea why you were offended by that, or why you felt the need to attack me personally, particularly considering you have know idea of my background, knowledge base, or anything else.  But, it seems to be a pattern of yours.  And I have no idea how you're a moderator on this site given your temperament and need to lash out at others.  As for SV and their use of grease on their guns, so what?  I've known Sandy for probably 30+ years, and have tremendous respect for him.  He's probably the smartest guy I know in the gun business, and in addition to being extremely knowledgeable, has always been 100% honest and straightforward with me.  But, that doesn't mean we have to agree on everything.

Yes sir.  Completely agree.  Had a bad day today, one of our guys died.  I apologize.

Really sorry to hear that.  And, certainly understandable given the circumstances.  I appreciate the apology and will try to keep things constructive going forward.

ITDMSTR@ I appreciate you knowledge!, why does SVI use grease on there pistols. I own several and I have always wonder why they use grease and recommend that we use grease?

I've watched Brandon Strayer build a bunch of pistols and he always got a finger full of slide glide and covered the inside of the slide with it.  I left the team 8 years ago, so they may do something different now......
