2011 Slide Conversion For Optics

Looking for competitors who have had tri topped 1911/2011 slides converted to an optic plate/rear sight conversion. I would like to end up with something very similar to the MasterPiece Arms Hybrid System. Looking for quality machinists/gunsmiths that people have had experience with. Any pics or links would be great.

If you want what MPA uses you will only be able to get it from accuracy X as it is their proprietary system.

Now if you just want to be able to put an optic on a 2011 slide that's been tri topped there are a couple ways to do it. Direct mill depending on the dot you want or mill for a chosen standard plate system like glock, ect.. For that I recomend Dan Heitzenrater at D2 Customs.

I am not sure if it’s possible on my tri topped slide. I am looking at just building an extra optic cut upper.

Putting an Open scallop cut on a tri-topped slide is not problem.  The is still enough meat to drill and tap for mounting holes.  You are stuck with dot with mounting holes. .550" ctc.  If you want locating pins, that further narrows your sight choices.
