CZ S2. Failure to eject malfunction.

Hi All

I have a S2 that so far has about 2-3K rounds through it and I have experienced twice now that a fired round fails to be ejected out

and a new round jams up underneath it causing a failure. Both times happened during a lvl 2 match of course and cost me a lot of time.

I have a 10 lbs recoil spring and a 8 lbs hammer spring with a Ultimate trigger and a reduced firing pin spring. Everything else is stock.

Since this has happened I have replaced the extractor and extractor spring and cleaned it (there was not much gunk under the extractor).

I'm thinking it could be one of the following:

1) Drag on slide. (I have another S2 that has thousands of rounds through it and I have never had that issue, but it doesn't take much drag)

2) Low powder charge round. Could have had enough powder to clear the barrel, but not to eject. (It did not feel like low power charge and the hit was fine in both instances)

3) ??

I have a big lvl 3 match coming up and It's frustrating that I have not identified the issue causing this.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Brgs.

Has it happened again since you replaced the extractor and spring? Sounds like you may have fixed it. I've had the same problem, replaced last week with Cajun extractor and spring. Running it this Sunday, fingers crossed.

Is that an Eemann Tech safety in the pic?

I had a similar issue with an SP-01 (but at a much higher round count), the extractor had a TINY chip on the claw and would not pull the spent brass all the way out.  It was only visible (with my old eyes) under magnification.  New extractor solved the problem, but I was worried during my first competition.

Good luck on your lvl 3 event.

I switched to 11 lbs recoil spring and +500 rounds later I have not experienced it again.

My discussions with CZ Custom indicate the 11# spring is ideal. I'm personally having issues with my SP01 ACCU Shadow not fully returning to battery, and will be having CZC look at it next week. Will see if they advise something other than the 11# spring.
