cnote
Whats the difference and why would one prefer the 4 over the 5 if both available for sale???
Edwards30
The 5's have the built in "magwell", also the Gen 5 does not have the finger grooves. The last thing I can think of is traditional rifling in their marksman barrels. Maybe check this out:
Braxton1
The Gen5 gun has: - a different Trigger system (different style trigger springs) - Ambi Slide Stop Levers - No finger grooves - Built-in Magwell - nDLC finish - Glock "Marksman" barrel - Different interaction between the Firing Pin and the Firing Pin Safety (they don't peen each other nearly as much on the G5.) - Front Serrations - Different lower barrel lugs (same as the G19 lug) - different basepads on the magazines (don't try to use G5 mags in a 19X; they won't fit.) - plus, many more G5 models are MOS-capable, including the G26 Gen5. AHI
marksman barrel is not traditional rifling. if you look closely. you will see it just a different. polygonal rifling maid to look like traditional rifling. get an endoscope and look.
Sinister4
Having done quite a bit of testing the gen 5 is quite a bit more accurate than the gen 4 overall testing at 25 yards with 130 PF jacketed, plated and coated loads. Your results may vary lol
Eli_a
The biggest difference that has mattered to me is the finger grooves. I really didn’t like them on the gen
