TheGodfather
I’m in the process of sending my slide in for an optic cut and was planning on having some other work done. I haven’t been in the game for the last 5 years so I don’t have complete understanding of the current modification rules. The two I’m concerned about are the end of the slide “bob” and the shallow cut along the middle of the slide. I know the (picture example) grip stippling is not legal. I’m pretty sure it’s legal in uspsa but not sure about Idpa.
GmanCdp
Your stippling is just fine in CO and ESP. Read the rule book to see about slide features.. it’s free to download.
Jim Watson
Yup, remolding the receiver is OK. You would have to claim that prettyfying the slide like that would fall under: Z. Slide checkering, serrating, engraving, and other machining. The PRESENT standard for ESP is "fit The Box and make weight." The only Bad Feature mentioned in the AC letter is a wider magazine catch (Up to .20" taller is OK.) There will probably be more specific standards when and if a new rulebook is issued. Tread lightly on mods.
