Cowguy Posted January 13, 2022 Share Posted January 13, 2022 I know this has been hashed out before, but I bought 13 coil springs for my gen 1 sti 40 mags according to the brazos website without seeing what they had in them. Short version is I was loading 20 with no problem, now 20 is super tight. My question is can I cut coils off or should I just buy new ones? Lightj75 Posted January 13, 2022 Share Posted January 13, 2022 You should be fine to remove coils I had to do the same for my Walther q5 magazines after asking h.kim for spring recommendations but he also advised me that removing coils would significantly reduce the life of the springs.
