A couple of guys I saw running them in a AR match talked about how they liked them on their long range setups so they could see where their shots were going for quicker follow up shots. I usually just apologize to my squad before the first stage and figure I'm good for the match. Keep in mind it bumps you into open in most leagues/matches due to its size.
