You need to put your brain into your shooting hand when pressing the trigger in both dry-fire and live-fire. If you follow this advice, your hands will become smart and do the right thing. With enough practice, both dry-fire and live-fire, you can hardwire your hands so the support hand is primarily providing grip control and your shooting hand is providing trigger control. An easy concept, but one that takes the amount of work required (different for everybody) to get your hands to work in coordination and do the right thing .
