Do springs = change POI

Hi, 

 

Do Springs effect the point of impact? I changed  the recoil spring in one of my open guns to a 3 pounds heavier (9 vs 12) one and it seems that Im shooting low now. Does this seem normal, heavier spring lower impact on follow ups / double taps?

Muzzle dip. 12# is HEAVY for an open gun.  Typically 8 works. 9 is the highest I've ever tried and always go back to an 8.

Yep...

 

The heavier spring is forcing the slide back into battery faster and due to momentum, the nose of the gun dips during your second shot.

I'm running a czechmate w 115g running between 155-170pf depending on what I'm shooting. Is a 9lb enough you guys think?

I believe it all depends on your grip tried to do what the majority of the people here say 7-9 # and i am always going back to 13-15 # ?

In a Major PF Open gun? Best results will be with <10# spring for sure.

My sig 320 legion 132 pf i use the hevier spring in my CK arms 172pf 14# just switched again from 10# again I cannot make the lighter springs work for me. at 10yds i have a 3-4" muzzel rise.

Sarge just got back in the house made new target with lines and tested the 10# and 14# springs in my CK and will have to say 10# was way better thanks for your input.
