Coated bullets and Mr Bullet Feeder?

I should have mentioned, I'm loading .357 BBI bullets in 9mm cases. I'm shooting them in my S&W 929 which is a 9mm revolver, but has a .357 barrel.

Could that be the issue?

Then if your current funnel is indeed .356 on the upper step, then I would order one of the PE oversized funnels from either PE themselves, or if they are closer to you, then Uniquetek!

I ordered one, I'll let you know how it works out.

I think you'll be very satisfied with the results!

Not sure if you noticed from the old post I linked to above, but you can see in the mouth of the empty case furthest to the right, the type of bullet "seat" that the DAA powder funnel should create when adjusted properly:

The Mr Bullet Feeder funnel measures .356 at the second bell.

There’s your problem. That isn’t stock.

I just measured the plug step and mine is .358 per spec and that is after at least 30k loads.

I might mention I also polish the funnels to a bright shine which helps with sticking.

Why yes, yes I am. Is that the issue?

Well it can be if you are using projectiles bigger than .355".  Brass is springy stuff and the MBF funnel only expands it a relatively small amount. These undersized dies size the case about 2 thousandth tighter than most other dies, if you try to load projectiles that are .357" you will have a situation where the peg does not like to fit in the hole.

I have mine adjusted so the mouth of my brass goes to the end of the step. You may want to screw the die down just a hair more. Also if your top step on the daa powder funnel is 0.356” then it’s just worn out and you may need to get another one.
