SSCHELL
So here is the issue, no matter whether it is the 5 rd mag supplied or the 20 round Magpul 1919 drum the 2 3/4" and 3" rounds have a high angle from the mag follower. I have read about taking a flap disc or grinding tool to cut down the front on the follower to lower the angle allowing the shell being seated to pass without obstruction from the one still in the mag and failing to load into chamber. Has anybody else heard of this and have any experience? I have a 9 round magazine I can use as a test dummy and see how it works. I also think the mag spring is severely stiff and hard to load. Thinking I will drop the bottom of the mag and cut a coil or two off the spring to lighten the pushback and make it easier to load. Your thoughts? dogtired
So is the shell contacting the top of the chamber? Pics of the problem will help. I guess this is an old post… Edited September 29, 2021 by dogtired
