Sidehill
I built this simple decapper for my drill press while waiting for my dillion dies to come so I could at least process my brass in a wet tumbler. The spent primers fall through the hole in the table into a container. The diameter of the pusher rod is .062. Any one see a problem with this set up? I ordered a new Dillion 550 back in January and they told me the die sets were 10-12 weeks out. I contacted them yesterday as the time has come due and they told me die sets are now backordered 24 weeks from the date of purchase. Very frustrating, as I have assembled all my components and decapped and tumbled a few thousand casings.

Silent
See if you can find a set of dies separately online. Then ask Dillon if you can change the order to no-dies (it’s a standard option). Doesn’t answer your main question but might save you some time...
Sidehill
Thanks jcc, didnt take long to make and was from parts I had laying around. I look online for some separate dies, Dillion did mention I could cancel my dies if need be.
SnipTheDog
Lee, Mighty Armory, FW Arms, all have pretty good decapping dies. You might be able to buy a single stage out there and sell it when you get your 550.

stick
It's a good idea, but don't forget to resize them when your press arrives. I use Lee dies in my Xl650
