Eley 38 Super comp

Anyone have issues with Eley 38 Super Comp? I bought some at Nationals in October, and just got around to shooting some. I'm finding that I have a number of rounds in each box that seem to be loaded very light. The problem rounds have enough powder to make the projectile exit the barrel, but not enough to eject the brass and chamber a new round. Antone else run into this?

I bought a case a year ago that was loaded in Starline 38SC brass. It chrono’d at 173 pf and very consistent.

Now I see they are using Eley 38SC brass. Haven’t tried this batch and was going to order more but they don’t have the components to make loaded ammo.

I've run about 2k of their 9mm major and it was nice. About 175Pf. Worked great in my open gun. Wish I had bought more when it was available. It was cheap too. I think I paid less then $20/box. But I had never heard of eley or killrough shooting sports and was skeptical.

I am having a hard time finding 38 super comp brass these days. Both Eley and Starline have been out of stock every time I have checked.

Starline is at Brownells; https://www.brownells.com/reloading/brass/pistol-brass/38-super-comp-brass-100-bag-sku749018116-118586-218367.aspx

and Grafs:  https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/category/categoryId/4189

Hornady also makes 38 Super Comp. It's in stock at Grafs:  see link above.

And it might be in stock here: https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting-gear-gun-supplies/reloading-equipment-supplies/brass/hornady-38-super-comp-handgun-reloading-brass-200-count/p/1663057

Another option is Starline 38 TJ. It's in stock at Starline.

And for more than you ever wanted to know about rimless 38 Super brass:   https://www.ssusa.org/articles/2019/7/23/rimless-38-super-brass-everything-you-need-to-know/

I recently got some Eley ammo to try in my new SC barrel.  Functioned great, but it felt like it was loaded pretty hot.  Seems like it would be around 175PF as the poster above mentioned.  Even with a RN bullet it was still accurate.

Just thought that I would give an update - I talked to Eley about the issue that I was having with a few "light" rounds in 38SC.

They replaced the rounds that I had and the new ammo that they sent functions flawlessly.

It definitely makes major power factor, cycles the gun easily and is quite accurate.

I appreciate a company that stands behind their product.
