Maverick 88 Trigger won't pull.

With a round chambered and three in the magazine safety switch off and ready to fire, the trigger will not pull and seems to stay in the back position stuck. Cleared the firearm and tried different ammo and same thing. The gun will dry fire but the problem continues when loaded. A thorough cleaning of the firearm was completed and no obvious problems seem to be present.

 

I just couldn't figure out. About 70% of the time, the gun simply won't fire. I pull the trigger, but it won't move -- exactly as if the safety is engaged. If I engage the safety and then disengage, it still won't fire. If I rack a new shell, sometimes it works, but sometimes not.

I tried three different types of 2.75 shells and the same issue happened on all 3. Just to be clear -- when the issue happens, there is no click -- the trigger is stuck as if the safety is engaged. Am I missing something? Thanks for your time!
