ejevans45
Anyone have any tips or pointers to slim down the txg grip module? I have the Wilson combat on my carry gun and love the shape. Was hoping to do something similar with the heavy txg grip for competition.
kujo929
I shaved off the bump where thumb wraps around. Made it more comfortable.
ejevans45
I have done that too and I agree that it is more comfortable. I’m wanting to shave the sides and front and back if possible.

George16
Alma did the beaver tail contouring on the TXG grip.
echotango
I completely changed the contour of my wife's as she has tiny hands. I also added a hump on the back strap to both of mine sort of like a cz grip. Removed the sharp edge on the beaver tail also. Then silicon carbide. ejevans45
I’ve removed the tip of the beaver tail And did the SC grit to the grip but it still feels like a 2x4. The video from Alma is outstanding and sparked some ideas. thanks.
Posvar
Wish I could chime in that I know how to do all those things but I just have Alma do my grip work. He is the MAN when it comes to that. Still running a nearly 5 year old OG P320 grip done up by Alma on my HD gun and it is a joy to use. Another FAT TXG grip is in the cue for Alma to do for my large hands. I have been doing grips since 1990 with thousands done....Sig,STI,Glock, M&P,H&K...evey type of polymer is different.. angle of attack with the iron and duration is critical... the tungsten infused grip react different.. ddc
How does the "grip-ness" compare to an epoxy/silicon carbide treatment?

I do a grip texture in zones based on how your hands sit plus the reduction and undercuts combined with recoil give you the bight..sil carbide is just their and has a build up.. Skawt329
What product did you use to bring the original color back after the sanding?
ddc
2 hours ago, Skawt329 said: What product did you use to bring the original color back after the sanding? Use progressively finer sandpaper. The coarser grits will leave scratches as they take off plastic. That is to be expected, no problem. As you use the progressively finer grades those scratches will start to go away. Once you get very close to the desired profile start using very fine sandpaper. You can also finish up with a very fine steel wool. In the end it will be difficult or impossible to tell where you made the modifications. The transition from factory to your work will be seamless.
