AzDanMan
I am new to reloading and have a question. Can a bullet be reseated after it has been crimped? Like from 1.125 to 1.122 and then crimped again. What issues can come from doing this? Thanks for all advice and knowledge you can give.
George16
I’ve done a few times without any problems at all. Just be mindful that if you crimped it too much in the beginning, reseating and then crimping it again might scrape the bullet’s coating or jacket. I only crimp to remove the flare at .378-.380”. noylj
Most taper crimp shouldn't even touch the bullet. Just wondering: why are you worried about 3 mils of COL variation?
warpspeed
OP I wouldn't worry about 0.003" unless it is preventing the gun from going into battery and if that is the case, you may want to shorten them more so that you aren't so close to go / no-go territory as 0.003" isn't a whole lot. Most will see that much variation due to slight difference in the bullet shape at the tip. But to answer your question - yes ; reseat and recrimp of a loaded round is not a big deal. Provided of course they aren't roll crimped revolver rounds.

Good question. 0.003 is well within my expectations for COL assuming that based upon your target COL length you are talking about 9mm? If all my 9mm production was +/- 0.003 I think I'd be a happy man. Having said that... I have done minor COL adjustments with no apparent negative side effects. This is with respect to mass produced 9mm range blaster ammo. Precision rifle? I would think not.
Silver_Surfer
I've done it but only with jacketed bullets.
