jimm223
For those of you shooting 6 inch 2011s did any of you make the switch from 5 inch because it was getting hard to see front sight and if so did it help any? Thanks Jim
ltdmstr
It'll help in terms of accuracy, but as far as you're ability to see the sights clearly, it's really not going to make any difference. Best thing to do is get custom shooting glasses with the lens for the dominant eye focused on the sights, and other for distance. Takes a bit to get used to, but it works. caspian guy
Yes when I still shot limited I switched to a 6" for much that reason. It helped a little. Glasses would help more (or a switch to a dot division like I did.)
konkapot
Eyes are not "bad" yet but the 6 inch just helped overall.
jimm223
That's kind of what i figured. Will have to give the glasses angle a try. Shot CO this year but I do miss Limited. Thanks for the info. Jim
Aircooled6racer
Hello: It will depend on how bad your eyes are and if you are near or far sighted. Also the 6" pistol will have to be built correctly so it does not feel like a heavy slow pistol. Take a look at Triangle Shooting sports Fat Free models that Benny builds. bulm540
My TSS long slide did help. Prescription shooting glasses are a must. Edited November 8, 2020 by bulm540
rishii
I have a 6” limited gun and it’s just ok, it was built to comply with the old rule. It cycles slower than I like with any ammo heavier than 165 heads. A friend built a gun with a 6” island barrel and 5” slide, it cycled fast, has the longer sight radius plus a little weight out front if I ever got the bug to shoot limited regularly, I’d build something similar
