dbryan
I purchased a SP01 Tactical and changed the mainspring plug with the lanyard loop for a compact mainspring flat plug and the DA pull weight dropped from 8.5 lbs to 4.5 lbs. The SA changed from 5.8 lbs to 2.5 lbs. I looked up the part on Cajun Gun Works website and noted the part is not compatible with the SP01. It seems to be running fine and I am not experiencing light primer strikes or anything else that seems problematic. I am contemplating replacing the plug if it will cause problems later. Any advice is appreciated.
ronn
Do you have a picture with the new plug installed
Tok36
I can not say that i have heard this one before. Have you tested this with ammo that has a hard primer? How many rounds have you run through the pistol in its current configuration?
dbryan
Ill post a pic but the plug looks like the one you would use if installing a magwell. The difference is it is designed for the compact. It is about 1/8" shorter that the standard. I have tested the gun with 35 rounds of reloads. I am shooting 147 fp blue bullets loaded to 1.125 oal with 2.8 grains Titegroup. The primers are Winchester SPP. No light strikes, and no feeding or ejection issues. The only thing that didn't change is the trigger take up and the reset. I found a full size plug online and will install it when it arrives. I'll post the trigger pull info and reliability once i have a chance to put some rounds downrange.
rowdyb
You took all the preload out of the spring. Effectively shortening it. That is why you saw your numbers dip. It is acting just like as if you'd cut coils off the spring.
