Holy s#!t! Another Legend gone. 

 

Went  to see them with my friends at the San Diego Sports Arena back in May 1992 when I was stationed on a ship there. I remember Alice In Chains opening for them in that concert.

 

This was a little bit over a year after the riots in LA and Sammy Hagar said, “we’re glad to be here in San Diego, where it’s safe” The crowd roared in approval after he said this.

 

Those were the good times.

just seen this. music has really taken some big hits the last year or two. R.I.P. Eddie!

EVH was one of a handful of guitarists who's sound you could recognize without looking at the credits. 

From his son's twitter post is sounds like he was a great Dad.

I remember when they played there first demos on the radio. Rock jumped light years. Godspeed Eddie Vanhalen.

I remember surfing in the caribbean atlantic ocean while listening to Van Halen and Eddie Lee Roth "Jump, Panama" etc etc F*cking legend!

He still owes me for my speakers he blew out in 1979. And my hearing aids in 2020.
