jstagn
Is it possible for an extractor to increase tension after about 15k rounds? Thought they lost tension. 2011 open 38 sc. Thanks
CHA-LEE
If you have never pulled it out in 15K and cleaned the gunk out of the extractor tunnel then absolutely it can increase tension because the tunnel is packed with crap.
jstagn
Cleaned tunnel every couple thousand rounds, even with clean running vit powder.

Thought they lost tension. 2011 open 38 sc. Thanks any part that works like leaf spring lost tension more than any spiral spring. i clean extractor channel every 3k and check extractor tension every month and before competition.gun after 20k and i tuned extr. only after 12k mine most reliable 9mm gun. jstagn
Did you loosen or tighten extractor when you retuned? Thanks Edited September 12, 2020 by jstagn
yigal
i built jig for extractor tuning . i tighten them because i don't like over pressure extractors. i tuned extractors for few ours club members with this jig and they over 25k with 0 issues after this.
