Maximis228
Mixing some in? Great. Entire match? Lame.
MikeBurgess
also expensive they tend to get shredded and hard to score pretty quickly
arkadi
I shot some indoors built with mini IPSC targets entirely. I think they are great once in a while.
arkadi
Probably, depends on what you have to work with. The stages built indoors with bullet traps are real stuff. If you have just one wall for 2D stages...
rowdyb
I would say yes to a whole match like that but only if a person knew ahead of time that was the set up. I would not be pleasantly surprised showing up to any match that was entirely one "gimmick" if I didn't know it ahead of time.
shred
Plus they extra-reward Major scoring, as if it didn't already have enough of an advantage.
stick
An entire mini match...No thanks. I did shoot a outdoor 2 gun match where the rifle was a 1/2 size target due to the limitations on the range size. In my opinion, mini or reduced size could work, but scoring should be adjusted. Bigger holes in smaller targets skews the scoring system.

Having never shot at one, this hadn’t occured to me. It absolutely makes sense that it’s an advantage not to have to hunt down tiny A-zones as carefully. rowdyb
I built a stage or two w them at CASA for an outdoor match. Getting them on stands is extra work and they got shot up terribly. I bought 50 of them 2.5 years ago and still have 20 of them...

Sucked, got shot up really fast hard to hang, hard to score, and no one knew that was going to be the targets. Wasn't too bad for PCC, but would be tough on iron sight shooters. Ok to mix a few in for fun only. gerritm

No portion of half-sized targets may be covered with hard cover or no-shoots; they must be presented as full targets. The opposite side may be used as a no-shoot target, as with full-sized targets, but they may only be used as free-standing no-shoots, and any half-sized target visually blocked in such a manner must be fully visible at some other point in the course of fire. Half-sized targets may not be mounted onto full-sized no-shoot targets or used as no-shoots on full-sized scoring targets. Restrictions on angle of placement still apply for IPSC targets. MikeBurgess
yep we haven't used a mini target since they added all the restrictions, just too much trouble and its easy enough to add hard cover or no shoot to force precision when needed
BoyGlock
Unfortunately we dont have those restrictions in ipsc and my local level 1 matches abuse it w/ impunity just for the fun of making life difficult for shooters
my00wrx1
I went to a match which was all mini targets a few years ago, maybe 10 or 12 stages. It was advertised as such and it was great fun but would not want to do it all the time. It is not unusual to have a stage or 2 with mini targets in matches I attend.
