9mm PCC Buffer & Spring

Ok folks, the I have a new Stag 9mm PCC-Pistol.  Just have it about where I want it. But have run across an potential issue.

 

The other day, after resolving an issue with the LRBHO, I had an issue with a round separating while clambering.  When I hit the bolt release, the projectile separated from the case, an powder was everywhere.  The case rejected, but the bullet was stuck in the chamber.

It came out with a rod and was relatively unscathed.unscathed. 

 

Now these were my reloads, but for 20,000 rounds I've never had that happen in a pistol.  Then again it's a pistol.  I know it could be an anomaly but I don't really think "More Crimp" is the answer.

 

So this gun is Direct Blowback, and uses a standard carbine Buffer & Spring.  Now that I've run it a few rounds and have it lubricated, I'm worried that the spring is too strong or the buffer is too heavy.

I know that since it's direct blowback, the weight in the bolt & buffer have to work together for the timing, velocity, gun cycling, etc.

 

I really prefer to let the spring do the work closing the action, but don't want the inertia to jzr the projectile loose.

 

Any thoughts on a lighter buffer or a different buffer spring?

plunk test your ammo in the barrel. You will likely find that the bullet is getting caught on the rifling. You will likely need to get the chamber reamed, load to a shorter OAL, change to a more pointy bullet or some combination of the 3.

ChuckS - I'll give that a shot.  The round that I pulled out was a Berry's 135gr Target HP, and I guess it's a little rounder than most of the 124's I normally load.

But you know that Bolt Does Move Forward FASTER than any of my AR's or Blackouts.  
You're thinking it didn't go fully into battery, which is possible.  I was thinking the bullet kept going forward after the case stopped.
