gnappi
I just installed an EGW mount with 4MOA red dot and on the first sight picture sometimes I have to hunt for the dot, all subsequent shots are spot on. I've used larger tube type dots and have had no problem like this. Is it something you just have to get used to by drawing often?
Hdiamond
Basically yes. Your index point is gonna be a little different than with irons especially if you’re using a dovetail mount instead of milling. lots of dry practice will get you there. Also practice surrender draws, and other odd positions (leaning etc) as your index isn’t just off the draw.
davsco
yep that dot sitting just a skosh higher than the iron sights we're used to can really make a difference.
Robertwil18
The RDS exposes a lot of the minor flaws that iron sights do not. Spend a ton of time doing dry fire, and practicing the proper draw stroke and you'll be fine
The Donald
When people worry about the height of a red dot on a slide, look at how high the red dot is on most open guns. Yes you do need to dry fire your draw a bit to get the right presentation,.
limitedgun
Is it 1993 again? The last time I heard this question was when C More arrived in the scene. Yes, it takes dry fire practice to get in the groove of using a single plane dot sight. If, however, you would like to provide cheap entertainment to your squad do nothing. It is so fun to watch someone fishing for a dot and wondering if they will catch it.
