jhook
Just purchased the RIA VR80 for my shotgun tactical matches. First 100 shell break-in period is accomplished. My big question of the day is: Do you Lube or Grease the gas piston and Gas Block after cleaning OR wipe it down dry after cleaning? Thanks, John
Nolan
Leave the gas system dry. No lube on the piston or the barrel. Do not use a dry lube, it will burn and gum up the works. Nolan

jhook
That makes a lot of since now. After running another 75 rounds the shell would not automatic eject. During cleaning I noticed that the Gas Piston was stuck in the Gas Block. LOL. It took a lot of soaking to remove it, also there was gunk in the gas block. I'm assuming that was carbon mixed with a little CLP. Now I will wipe that area dry (Gas piston, block, and barrel) after cleaning with CLP. Thanks Again, John
jhook
Thanks for the advice. Finished my Break-in phase today. Ran the remaining 50 shells of Monarch 1350fps and had no Hiccups. Ran 15 shells of Winchester 1200fps and 15 shells of Federal 1200fps, had no issues. I will keep the Gas System dry after cleaning. John
