Red dot Slide milling vs. adapter plate

I'm looking at Ben Stoeger's site for optic mounts:

I've also looked at PD's page on slide milling. I wrote them about particulars on the slide below regarding probably not needing slide lightening service and the cost.

So as it stands, there's about a 5x uplift for milling a slide. Other than a lower sight plane, and lighter weight with milling,  what benefits vs. cost are there between the two for the slide below?

You can buy a plate and use that but my question for you is which frame are you using for this slide? If you have a limited slide with the 8 mount holes in it it would be better to mount the sight via the frame. This would give less stress for the optic. I use an EGW mount for my SRO and it works well. I didn’t want to ship my slide in case it got lost. Good luck.
