sweaver
I've recently switch over to shell shock cases and have noticed sparks shoot out of the ejection port every few round ( maybe 1 in 8 or 10 ). Has anyone seen this before? Is this something to be concerned with. They are brand new cases that I have loaded and are being fired for the first time. Guy Neill
I have not used any Shellshock cases, but I have seen sparks with brass cases from time to time.
Dranoel
The sparks are from unburnt powder igniting as the case is pulled free of the chamber. Often this is from slower burning powders. Nothing to really worry about. What loads are you using? Edited June 27, 2020 by Dranoel
sweaver
I'm using 6.8 grains of WAC. The odd thing is I use the same load when using brass and shell shock cases. This only happens with the shell shock.
arkadi
They are larger internal volume, IIRC.
