FW Arms and On Point Manufacturing Toolhead

Recommended Posts

I received my FW Arms Decapping and Swage Foot Dies yesterday and super impressed with the quality.  Unfortunately I have not used them yet as Dillon has not had any RL1100 Short Trim Die Toolheads in stock.  After doing much research I came across an aftermarket toolhead made by On Point Manufacturing, LLC.  I called them up on Tuesday, spoke to Mike and asked a few questions.  He informed me that they probably had 1 unit left and he would get back to me later that day... he didn't.  I followed up the next day and he stated he was going to check on availability and get back to me in an hour.  That hour turned in to 8 and late Wednesday he told me it was in fact available and ready to ship out next day.  Thursday morning I placed the order, submitted payment and advised Mike via text that it was done.  He responded that he was on his way to the shop and would ensure the order was processed, shipped and he would confirm later that day.  I never heard from them so I texted this morning and got zero response the entire day.  I'm not impressed by these guys and hope I didn't get scammed!

I could've purchased the RL1050 Short Trim Die Toolhead and been done with it as DP does have those in stock.  Instead I decided to give small business the sale and now I regret it.  Anyone have any direct transactions with these folks?  I do not believe I am being unreasonable all I want is for them to follow through with their promise or provide me an update as to why they are not able to fulfill a promise they made.

Well for now we can admire these bad boys!

The other recent thread about that tool head is first I have heard of it. Sure they are doing their best. A lot of machine shops are having trouble during the shut down. I would give them a chance. Seems like a nice product.

as for FW.. only complaint are dies are too tall. Can’t use it with my Dillon trimmer on a 550. Fine on 1050 and Revo press with space between them.

I have the On Point upgraded tool head, Mike is an awesome guy and it’s a small shop. Due to everything that’s going on lots of businesses are suffering with lack of supplies, etc. I don’t think that smart small business owner will be out to scam anyone, if they do than that will be their demise.

I suspect they’re extremely busy, and humans do make mistakes. I’m still waiting for my 15% discount refund but?

Have you tried contacting Mike again? Email, phone, etc?

I received their toolhead and let me tell ya, it’s awesome!

I run the FW Arms dies in my Revo and yeah, they are super tall - and built like a brass Sherman tank. I had MA dies originally which worked great too, especially after I added the flicker spring. I did have an occasional crushed case in station 2 prior to the FW.  And I don’t think I’ve had any since. They keep up with my Revo no problem.
