BobRockefeller
What is it that makes an M&P Spec Series pistol different than their other pistols?
mgkrs
Front & rear tritium sights. Also comes with goodies like the knife and challenge coin.
BobRockefeller
That's it. Perhaps it's a replacement for their standard 5" 2.0 model? The price seems lower.
Terry44
As far as I can tell, the only 5" that comes in black is the Spec series and the Performance Center version. The Performance Center has a ported barrel and fiber optic sights. The Spec had Tritium.

m39nut
Since it has night sights I am not sure why the price is lower than the standard version. Am I missing something? I hope they haven't cheaped out on components.
SteelCityShooter
My 5" M&P9 2.0 CORE came in a box marked "Performance Center" but the gun itself is engraved "Pro Series", which I gather is an intermediate level between the standard guns and the true Performance Center ones. Mine is not ported and does not have night sights but does have suppressor height sights, probably so they co-witness with some red dots.
Chino290999
Recently upgraded my g17 gen 5 duty holster to an m&p 9 2.0 spec series with the 4.6” threaded barrel and crimson trace rmr my biggest issue I’m facing now is finding a safariland duty holster that will fit or can be slightly modified to fit.. been Glock-in for years and decided it was time for a change after doing some range days with my buddy’s m&p
