Hawk21
I have a five(m) and seven(f) year old who love going to the range and shooting the 22/45 lite, but the entire time they complain about the glasses / ear muffs hurting. 90% of this is that they are not used to wearing anything on their face, but i do feel like if i found some gear more suited for their age it would be more comfortable. Can anyone recommend quality PPE for shooters under 10?
RangerTrace
I've got the same issue with my 6.5 year old. I'm trying to get some custom molded plugs for him, so he can wear the glasses without temple pain.
CharlieD
Tifosi Wisp glasses are the perfect size for them and will last into preteen years. These foam ear plugs are more comfortable than outer ears and block more sound. These are also easier for them to put in their ears by themselves. https://www.ebay.com/p/1801051106?iid=282717076122&chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=282717076122&targetid=884573702808&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=9025103&poi=&campaignid=6470049725&mkgroupid=87926505766&rlsatarget=pla-884573702808&abcId=1141176&merchantid=114148585&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-r71BRDuARIsAB7i_QPH2FqHJuSrJ0YktkwbKw2dvYUdc-3EZSxlnJpFjGwg7J23A9Zjc94aAuBEEALw_wcB
davsco
yeah i'd go with foam plugs vs muffs for kids. maybe even nip them a little so they're not too tight. but def make sure they're inserted vs just placed loosely.

While searching thru the Tifosi offerings I came across the podium, and grabbed a cheap pair off ebay to see if they will fit my kids face as small as the wisp! Sounds like foam plugs are the consensus for their little ears.... appreciate all the feedback
nso123
I know it is a little pricey, but have you looked at Hunters HD Gold? There are several styles, and some are adjustable. They probably have something that would be exactly what you are needing.

I have been wanting some for awhile now and planned on pulling the trigger at MS Classic Level II butttttt unfortunately it had to be canceled. Seriously if she sticks with it I’ll certainly make the investment if they have a pair that fits her well, so far she has enjoyed it tremendously and is a surprisingly good shot. #prouddad
nso123
I totally understand. I haven't moved my little boy to Hunters yet. I will eventually get him a pair if he sticks with shooting.
