45 colt

For a Henry lever action rifle.

Does 45colt require rifle primers? 

Or are pistol primers O/K.

 My concern mainly is the rounds are stacked nose to tail in the mag

45 Colt is a very low pressure round and uses large pistol primers.  The flat nose bullets will not contact the recessed primers, so they are your best bet. 

 

Make sure you stay away from the hotter Ruger/TC loads.

Large rifle primers are taller than large pistol primers, so they will not seat below flush in a large pistol primer pockets.

 

Do not use large rifle primers in place of large pistol primers.
