I know this is a little old but would grinding the corners off the nut eliminate this problem? I also thought about just getting the shorter head but I would be curious if that would drop the trimmer down far enough to block all the other stations.

 

I have a 550 now and was going to wait to process rifle brass until I got a bigger press but with things they way they are now I'm looking at getting a trimmer for my 550 and was looking at the mark 7 kit or honey badger kit. Mark 7 is a bit cheaper since it comes with the die already. I wasn't sure either trimmer would fit on a 550 as its not common but your post gives me hope.
