Soderquist
I have been rotating three Romeo 1 optics on 2 different pistols for a year and a half of Carry Optics Division daily training and shooting matches. I never want to get caught with a dead battery during a stage so I change out the batteries haphazardly every few months. I have never ran a battery dead and I feel like I'm changing them too much. How long has it taken you to run an Optic battery dead?
zhunter
Change it on your birthday every year and you should be good to go

echotango
I check mine every couple months. Below 3v, I chuck it. And a new one before a major.

zzt
On my RTS2s I have to change the battery after every match. That sucks. The DPPs run for a long, long time, even at full brightness. The SROs run seemingly forever, as do the Burris FF3s.
Soderquist
Thanks for the feedback guys. I went ahead and changed the batteries in my guns. I think I should be good for most of the summer season.
Racinready300ex
I have a holosun, I think it's rated for 50k hours. I also have a SRO I think it said 2 years. I'll probably change them around the 1st of the year every year. Should be plenty.

CPD7119
Check the battery life recommended by the manufacturer and cut it in half if you're worried about it. I changed work gun batteries once a year to be safe.
safarihunter
I've always changed once a year to be safe unless I have a lot of use then I check with a volt meter
