JP22 upper?

I was thinking about getting a JP 22 upper for my CTR02 lower.   Is it accurate enough to compete in .22prs style events?  Or would it be best suited for cheap practice that will mimic my full sized gun?

If you feed it good ammo ($10 a box) it should be fine for rimfire PRS/NRL.

 

If your club uses them, you might have a hard time with a KYL rack at 40-50 yards.  That 1/4 inch target can be a bear.

I was only hoping for around half an inch at 50 yards with good Ammo, and hopefully 1inch at 50 with CCI SV

That shouldn't be a problem. Mine shoots Geco much better than CCI SV at 100 yards. 5-shot groups with the Geco (semi or bolt) run around 1.6".

I have not done PRS yet but mine is very accurate. 

I was advised that supersonic ammo is not advisable at longer distances (regardless of rifle maker). 

I am awaiting on a scope.  I was told 5-25x or 5-30x with a FFP were the way to go.

It is doable, but you may need to play with ammo to find what it likes. Try SK match or Wolff

That is really good news to hear.    With the recent run on good centerfire Ammo, I am really looking into training the basics with a .22

Yes.  Good scopes are critical.  S&B is one of the few companies that offer clockwise knobs, so they get most of my business.

 

Below is my CLE/Geissele/S&B game gun.  It has a 16 inch barrel and an old JET integral suppressor.
