Heliarclee
Has anyone else read the minutes from the last BOD meeting? They voted on changes to Production and Carry Optics and now both have maximum weight of 59oz. Why?
George16
If that’s true, it clears the weight limitation for the shadow 2 optics ready model. CZ USA will be importing them to the USA since they had been available everywhere but in the US because it doesn’t make weight in the current 45 oz limit for carry optics. aandabooks
I'm not seeing anything about weight limit increase. Just a no motion on Prod to 15 that failed.

It looks like they removed the factory weight +4 oz from production also, its just 59 oz now.
shred
Aftermarket slides and barrels of any configuration are allowed now too. It's all part of trying to make it easier to comply with the rules by allowing nearly everything, so long as it isn't a SA trigger in CO or 15 rounds in Production. I also saw they moved from 2000 units to 500 units to make the Prod list.

mellino19
Wonder if the rule changes are so that Alien gun can be compliant for each division?

Maybe, and that CZ custom A01 LD. That thing weights 51 oz.

DeweyH
Looks like in production they got rid of all dimensional parameters on barrels and slides. Including caliber. Does this mean you could now put a Glock 35 slide on a Glock 17 frame and use a 9mm conversion barrel?

In general it will add cost to those who feel the need to have the most capable guns and it will reduce the value of the members existing guns. I think messing with equipment rules is a bad idea unless there is a strong specific need. One of the reasons I gave up on IDPA.
HCH
I’m wondering if they’re going to allow frame weights now. 59oz vs a 28oz Glock doesn’t seem very fair.

You can use whatever gun you want to, you don't have to use a Glock. It is still 9mm minor.

Jonesjohnm
Welp, guess all that milling/ lightening for my shadow 2 to be legal was for nought. Hopefully LOK will offer some tungsten weighted grip options. That’s how it goes sometimes.

HCH
At this point, is there really any reason to keep L10, SS, and Production separate?
