USPSA in Connecticut?

Recommended Posts

Looks like my job is being relocated from Florida to Connecticut.  I did a search and not much shows up in Connecticut.

Any info?

I would be in Southern Connecticut, job is in Stamford.

Thanks in advance

Asking on here is always a good start.

What I do to is go on Google maps and type in gun range, shooting club, shooting range, etc. Then go to each clubs website and check them out.

Obviously you know about the maps on practiscore.

There's gotta be something, if not start one.

Damn, Jay! Talk about a change of climate.

I have no intention of moving there, I live in Utah and would never leave.  I just fly in and work for a couple of weeks then go home for two to three weeks and repeat

I checked practiscore (no luck) and checked USPSA (not much better).  I did find an outlaw match, which I have no interest in shooting.  Looks like Massachusetts has some clubs

Not sure how close you are to Charleston, RI. They have a club that shoots USPSA.

I shot at Wolf's range just south of Hartford, but the

last I heard, they switched over to IDPA.

You could also try DutchessCounty near Poughkeepsie, NY,

but you'd be limited to 10-round mags.

Matamoras rod and gun club is just across the border in pa.  I think that’s your closest trip to free America.  Ontaleanee is another that’s not far from commieland.

No official USPSA in CT.  A couple of outlaw things.

Depending on where in CT your closest will be either:

Bradford in southern RI

Or

Granby and Monson in central MA.

Here is the section calendar, it will be more populated as the outdoor season gets going

They are.  We’ve gained quite a few new clubs in the mid Atlantic region too

There's few places in NY as well. LIPSA on Long Island would probably be closest one . You should get used to traffic jams on I95 if you gonna be in Stamford  lol

PA, NY, CT, MA and RI

Are they all 10 round states?

Do any have weekday/evening matches?

Only weekdays I am aware of (I'm in NJ and PA) are Old Bridge, Phillipsburg and Hellertown

PA is Very User Friendly - full auto, suppressors.   50 round mags.    :)

CT used to be very friendly but I'm not sure what happened after

that school shooting 8 -10 years ago (Sandy Hook).

NY is definitely 10 round ONLY.  You cannot own an 11 round mag.

Add NJ as a 10 rd state...clubs that have USPSA matches are Old Bridge, Shongum and Central Jersey.

I live in Stamford. Not too much USPSA in the state. We have a group of us that shoot local steel and USAPSA matches at a private club and we travel out of state to some other ones. Usually to Bradford in Rhode Island or LIPSA in Ny.
PM me for more info. I would be happy to talk.
