Makicjf Posted January 27, 2020 Share Posted January 27, 2020 Howdy, I'm thinking about picking one of these up for Single Stack. Is the listed weight of 40-41 ounces correct? Also , does anyone know a comp style holster that fits the 3/4 rail? I don't think my current AA 1911 holster will accommodate the 3/4 rail on this gun. Thanks! f2benny Posted January 27, 2020 Share Posted January 27, 2020 The weight is often wildly inaccurate in 1911s especially when they list the 45 as having the same weight as the 9. With a rail I bet its overweight out of the box. They make the same gun without a rail which is what Id get or just the regular range officer which has a single sided safety for a bit less weight. Postal Bob Posted January 27, 2020 Share Posted January 27, 2020 Most 9mm 1911's come very close to the weight limit with an empty mag, especially with extended base pads. I believe with the rail on the RO, it'll be over. I have a 9mm STI Trojan. I use an aluminum mainspring housing, w/Dawson ice magwell, and an aluminum guide rod to keep the weight under the limit.
